This is the expaination of the generated rig for Richard from the movie ‘Richard the Stork 2’ Some difference can appears with another bird rig.
POS object
On the usual Puppet Soul rig, POS is the Upper object. Adj is his child one and used as offset.
The POS have some options :

- Axis order : change this value to change the rotate order

💡 You mayu notice that the rotate order input is a number, not a list. This is because a Maya bug cause some save and load animation with list not loaded as excpected.

- global Scale : Scale the all puppet

- breathe : display breathe object

- Anim Proxy : show anim proxy insteas of skin mesh

The wing
The wing is clearly one of the biggest part of the bird.
You will have three icon for the wing :

The wing icon : open the wing folder window
- This window allow you to manage the fold of the wing. It need to have rigged properly.


- In a usual animation scene, with namespace, the namespace of the selection appears in NmSp>. The tag should be fill automatically too
- For Left or Right, hit :
- Rec + the slider to apply partially the wingfold
- A for Apply the wingfold totally
- S for select objects involve in the wingfold
- K for key objects involve in the wingfold
- Z for reset position of objects involve in the wingfold

FK/IK : manage Fk/Ik and other options

- FkIk : switch from ik to fk
- handFkIk : switch hand ik/fk (only applicable in Ik)
- Show hand :L show hand fk control
- round1/round2 : apply a round curvature for the ‘arm’

- round tweak / fine tweak : show tweak at different level

- Auto Lower/Upper twist : Perform an automatisation of the twist arm calculation
- Manual Offset Lower/Upper twist : Offset the auto calculation

💡 If you don’t have any issue with the arm twist, leave the default value. If you have some unexpected twist, tweak this values

- Attach to body : stick the feather ot the body
